About Author of Adaptive Signal Processing:

Bernard Widrow,Samuel D. Stearns

Bernard Widrow (born December 24, 1929) is a U.S. professor {of electrical} engineering at Stanford University. He is the co-inventor of the Widrow–Hoff least imply squares filter (LMS) adaptive algorithm along with his then doctoral pupil Ted Hoff. The LMS algorithm led to the ADALINE and MADALINE synthetic neural networks and to the backpropagation method. He made different elementary contributions to the event of signal processing within the fields of geophysics, adaptive antennas, and adaptive filtering.

Samuel D. Stearns is Professor Emeritus on the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM. He has been a Research Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UNM since 1999, and concerned in adjunct instructing and analysis at UNM since 1960.

His principal technical areas are digital signal processing and adaptive signal processing.  His most up-to-date work has been in instructing these topics on the University of New Mexico and in industrial quick programs, in addition to in consulting.

Salient options:

Introduces the idea of adaptation as a property or attribute of sure engineering techniques.

Describes a geometrical “performance surface” for the evaluation of all adaptive techniques.

Covers the most important functions of adaptive signal processing.
